Help Fund the Winter Farmer’s Market!

For the past several months, the Dorchester Community Food Coop has been working hard to create Dorchester’s first and only indoor Winter Farmers’ Market. We have been overwhelmed with the outpouring of support for this project from the people of Dorchester, and we thank you for your dedication and enthusiasm for this project. This farmers’ market will continue the service of providing fresh, local, and healthy food to Dorchester, that the summer markets have been so successful at bringing to the area. The market will also serve as a gathering place for the whole community to come together and share their passion for food, to learn and to grow as community.

Now with the launching of our very own online Kickstarter Campaign, you as our friends and neighbors, can pledge small amounts to help fund this project. There are many costs that need to be covered, such as hiring staff, publicity materials, and entertainment, and we need your help to do this.

By going to this address:

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/dotcommcoop/dorchester-winter-farmers-market, you can give a small donation. In return, you will also receive a small gift as a token of our appreciation.

If you have any questions please feel free to email us at dotcommcoop@gmail.com.

Thank you and take care,

Sincerely,

The Dorchester Community Food Coop Team.

  1. Hello,
Visited your Grand Opening today and was happy to see your offering of EBT purchases and the wonderful retail space inside (plus the Brass Band was fantastic). This may already be on your maps, but one suggestion to your growing market: make your eggs more affordable. $7 a dozen is unheard of in the community/co-op markets I’ve frequented. As a former manager of a community market geared towards low-income families in a Midwest city, I have to highly encourage you to negotiate down or find an egg producer that can sell a dozen naturally grown, local eggs below $3.00/dz. This alone will bring people from any SES far and wide to the market and help build community. Thanks!
